The lab welcomes undergraduate researchers and periodically posts undergraduate volunteer openings on the MCB job board, with application instructions. Please do not email Jim or lab members directly.

We are members of the MCB and Biophysics graduate programs, however, the lab is not taking rotation students for fall 2024 and winter 2025 rotations.

A postdoctoral position in a biochemistry-driven Parkinson’s disease drug discovery project is available. Funded by SPARK-NS, the project is a unique opportunity to leverage your own work with the help of a large external team of CROs and advisors and to learn about all aspects of drug discovery.  This position offers a springboard to a biopharma industry career and potential for startup creation.

Various postdoctoral projects in the structural cell biology of disease are also available for exceptional candidates with specialized expertise in the areas of in situ cryo-ET, HIV virology, or the cell biology of neurons.

The lab is committed to being an inclusive, positive, and supportive community for all members to achieve their highest potential and to carry out rigorous and exceptional science. We expect all members to contribute to maintaining the special environment in the lab.
